On 29 June 2022, at the British Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, over 180 LGBTQ+ independent activists, organizations, allies, and business leaders were welcomed to celebrate Pride Month and the 50th anniversary of the London Pride at “All Our Pride” event.
Mr. Oliver Todd (British Consulate General), as the co-chair of the Equal Rights Coalition, delivered an opening speech demonstrating the UK’s commitment to promoting and protecting the rights of the LGBTQ+ people, raising awareness on the LGBTQ+ issues and promoting equality, diversity & inclusion, as well as building & widening the LGBTQ+ allies’ communities in Vietnam.
At the event, the British Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City brought together powerful local voices from HCMC, Hanoi, and Southern provinces of Vietnam, including Vinh Long, Tay Ninh, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, to share their experiences of living as an LGBTQ+ member in Vietnam, ways to expand the local ally community, and how they, both individuals and organizations, were contributing to a better place for equality, from home to workplace with their amazing work.
“All Our Pride” was a memorable event to celebrate Pride Month and the 50th anniversary of London Pride.
